COGNITIVE-COMMUNICATION
Cognitive-communication disorders can alter you or your loved one's ability to manage their medications, track their schedule, communicate efficiently, or remember what they did last weekend. Our personalized treatment plans assist in targeting cognitive skills that can improve quality of daily life. Some skills addressed may include: memory, attention, executive functioning (i.e. awareness of deficits, organization, self-monitoring, time-management, etc.), problem solving, effective and efficient communication, frustration tolerance, social interactions, and processing.
APHASIA

Southeast Michigan Speech creates tailored treatment plans focusing on improving communication skills for meaningful interactions in work, social, or home contexts. We may incorporate script training, role-playing, and real-life practice to support successful outcomes.
SWALLOWING
Dysphagia can affect safety, efficiency, and satisfaction with eating and drinking. Some common symptoms may include: food sticking in the throat, coughing or choking with meals, weight loss, and prolonged eating times. Southeast Michigan Speech incorporates exercise based principles into our individualized treatment plans to maximize gains.
